Relay Races

One of the benefits of being a member of the Wicked Running Club is having access to three, unique, regional relay races. These relays have been established over the years by running clubs and alliances. They are tremendously fun and a great way to enjoy running not only with Wicked, but with the larger regional community.

Lynn Woods Relay

We are lucky to have Lynn Woods right in our neighborhood. There are miles of trails there, and each summer there are weekly (Wednesday) trail races at Lynn Woods between 2.5 and 8 miles. This culminates at the end of the summer with the Lynn Woods Relay. Teams of four assemble and each racer covers the 2.5 mile loop. Many other clubs from around New England head to Lynn, and if you’re into running and spending time with your teammates, help us defend our turf at the Lynn Woods Relay.

26×1 Mile Relay

Held every summer by the Somerville Road Runners, the 26 x mile relay is probably the most efficient, exciting, and chaotic way to run a marathon. Each club participating, including Wicked Running Club for the last several years, fields a team of 26 to run a mile on the track. It doesn’t require the training of a marathon, doesn’t do the same kind of long-term damage on your legs, is a lot faster than a marathon, and is more fun if you like to cheer on your friends.

Mill Cities Relay

he Mill Cities Relay is an unparalleled New England running tradition.  As a member of the Mill Cities Alliance, Wicked Running Club offers its members the opportunity to run this 27-mile relay race from Nashua, NH to Lawrence, MA and partake in the lively afterparty.

With men’s, women’s, and mixed teams in many different age divisions, we should have teams available for anyone who wants to race and forge friendships.  The race offers legs of 5.4, 4.75, 2.5, 9.5, and 4.75 miles.
