Group Runs
Here you will find regular group runs that are organized or attended by Wicked Running Club members. Each run has a description and an identified Wicked Running Club Run Captain. While these runs have consistent participation, we cannot make weekly guarantees. If you want to check in on status for any given week, you can reach out to the Run Captain. Some runs also have Facebook groups that you can subscribe to or send messages to. If you are new to any of these runs, we strongly suggest that you reach out in one of these ways. Once you get used to a group and the cadence, such checkins will become less necessary.
Also on this page we list group runs that are not organized or arranged by the Wicked Running Club, but often will have members attending. Those do not have Race Captains but if other contacts are available we list them.
Monday Nights at BackBeat
Every Monday night at 6PM we join our friends at BackBeat Brewing Company for a 5K run around Beverly. Afterwards you can choose to hang out at BackBeat for beverages and/or food. 31A Park Street in Beverly, near the main Beverly Train Depot.
The main run starts at 6PM, all paces are welcome, however a slower group/walkers have an optional earlier start time of 5:45PM. We are always ready to accommodate new runners, just let us know when you get there if we don’t ask ourselves!
On-street and lot parking is available. Be mindful of the Beverly Parking policies, and consider using the GoParkIt app for convenience (Wicked Running Club neither endorses nor can speak to the quality of the app, it it was up to us the parking would be free, but the City of Beverly has no interest in our opinion).

Donut Worry Be Happy Sundays
“Donut Worry Be Happy Sundays” is a fun four-mile scenic route through Salem – rain or shine, at 9:00AM each Sunday. Runners meet at the Salem Commons entrance by the Hawthorne Hotel (in case of rain – under the hotel canopy). We welcome all paces and abilities! This is an untimed “you do you” run – feel free to stay with the group, cut the route short, make the route longer, do a tempo run, walk/run etc. The most important thing to keep in mind if you get separated from the pack, is to join us at In A Pig’s Eye at 10am for “refueling.” (Beer, bloodies, pancakes… this run is just a clever ruse to make unwise dietary decisions and socialize with your fellow runners).
(Um, so what’s the deal with the donuts? We used to meet up at 62 when they had a home-made donut and cocktail bar on Sundays. Sadly, that no longer exits – but we kept the name out of convenience/laziness. And of course, the “spirit of the donut” lives on in all of us).
Here is a garmin link to the course.
